Hobie

Description

Set in a peaceful wildflower meadow and just a few minutes’ drive from two fabulous beaches, Hobie offers the finest luxury camping in a large, stylish safari tent. Its only neighbours are one other safari tent (Woody) and Rusty the Tin Tent. Equipped to the highest standards, Hobie has two bedrooms (a double and a twin) and a double den bed in the living area.

There is a wood-fired range for cooking and heating and, at the rear of the tent, a wooden annexe housing a double hot water shower/wet-room and a cloakroom with flushing WC and a wash-basin. Reconnect with nature and explore the neighbouring fields, light up a barbecue or simply relax on your decking and revel in Hobie’s glorious views.

Hobie boasts everything you need for your luxury camping holiday, including high quality sprung mattresses, luxurious bed linens, beautiful woollen throws, soft towels, reindeer hides, lanterns, designer dining chairs and a fully stocked inventory, including enamel crockery for eating both indoors and out. All that, and the kitchen sink. There is even a storage area with a fridge, kettle and double power socket for electrical essentials.

From the parking-area it is a short wheelbarrow walk with your luggage to Hobie’s tranquil, car-free meadow, and on site there is an honesty shop with a mix of home-made and local produce (from freshly made cakes to frozen pasties) and everyday necessities, including eggs and bacon to set you up for breakfast.

There is plenty to do nearby, from surfing and walking to visiting old fishing villages. Or, if you prefer to stay close to home, within the farm’s 12 acres of meadows you can fly a kite, enjoy a picnic, discover a small wooded copse where there is a rope swing and hammock, collect the abundant herbs and perhaps, at the end of the day, toast a marshmallow at the communal fire-pit while watching the sun set over the delightful coastal vista.
