Pencarrow House and Gardens

Pencarrow House and Gardens

It makes the family's history come alive whilst having that warmth which reminds you it is still the privately owned and cherished home of the Molesworth-St Aubyn family.

As well as public tours of the house, they can accommodate coaches and large groups for a guided tour of the house, finished off with a delicious cream tea or buffet lunch. Discount rates for groups of over 20.

Pencarrow is approached by a magnificent mile-long carriage drive through an Iron Age hill fort. Around the Palladian mansion are Grade II* formal gardens, a large Victorian rock garden and ice house, celtic cross, 50 acres of parkland, lake and woodland with more than 700 varieties of rhododendrons and many camellias, easily accessible along well-maintained footpaths.

There are lovely Tea Rooms, and a Wendy House with plenty of toys for the children to enjoy. Dogs are welcome off the lead in the woodland (on the lead around the house) and visitors can also pick their own soft fruit when it’s in season.

They can also carry out guided tours in German and French. The House will be open for pre-booked group visits from 2nd April 2017 till 29th October 2017 (group visits after the 28th September must be over 30 people and all group visits must be pre-booked)

The GARDENS are OPEN until 31st October 2017

10.00am - 5.30pm every day
