Tredhowr

Description

Tredhowr is a spacious detached contemporary house just 10 minutes’ walk from the beach, the coastal footpath and championship golf course at Carlyon Bay, and the wonderful tall ships moored in Charlestown harbour.

There is level access into the oak-floored hallway, and the big open plan living-room has a fully fitted kitchen, separate dining-area and a sitting-area with a wood-burner, windows overlooking trees and lawns and doors out to a private patio and enclosed garden. The ground floor bedroom has an en suite bathroom with a separate walk-in shower as well as a corner bath, ideal for anyone with limited mobility. The utility-room houses a small pool table and children’s games, keeping youngsters occupied so the grown-ups can relax.

Set in a large, private tree-lined plot in sought-after Sea Road in Carlyon Bay, Tredhowr is a wonderful holiday home. The quality of the house is evident as soon as you enter, with the bespoke oak staircase reflecting the high standard of the oak-flooring and doors. There is a ground floor cloakroom and a useful walk-in coat cupboard, perfect for storing backpacks and walking boots. The open plan living accommodation has a large sitting-area with a warming wood-burner, perfect for out-of-season stays. The dining-area accommodates large families with ease and is adjacent to the fully fitted kitchen, where Shaker-style units and granite work surfaces continue the quality feel. The ground floor double bedroom looks out over the secluded garden and has its own en suite bathroom with both corner bath and walk-in shower. Upstairs, the en suite double bedroom has masses of space and its own sitting-area and TV, and the twin bedroom is next to the family bathroom.

This is a lovely peaceful location where you can relax in comfort but with plenty for all ages to see and do within easy walking distance. There are pubs and cafes at Charlestown and a shipwreck museum that will intrigue children. The beaches on either side of the harbour entrance are shingle at high tide but sand is revealed as the tide drops back. Porthpean beach, just over a mile away, has a sandy beach and rock pools and a watersports training centre is at Pentewan five miles away.

Coastal footpaths meander along the cliffs, and there is a renowned golf course, great restaurant and luxury spa at nearby Carlyon Bay Hotel. The Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan are a short drive away and the sailing town of Fowey is just along the coast, a picturesque jumble of narrow streets, delightful shops and art galleries.
Perfect for families, Tredhowr is also available out-of-season for couples using the ground floor only at the discounted rate.
